In 2016, both for the Sangiovese and the Cabernet, gave particularly velvety and silky wines. The Sangiovese and Canaiolo aged in 25 hl wooden casks, of Slavonian oak, and the Cabernet in barrique barrels. After 12 months blending took place and a new period of ageing began in casks for another year and for at least 3 months in the bottles.
Colour: deep ruby-red, barely transparent due to the intensity and integrity. The nose: strong presence of small red fruits, especially cherry, followed by spicier notes, black pepper, a slight hint of vanilla and liquorice in the finish. In the mouth: tannins clearly present in the “young” phase, but already soft, enveloping, persistent with velvety, harmonious sensations.
