Sabatini Gin exudes Tuscan Style from all angles, with its selection of nine botanicals from Italy (including olive leaves, sage, fennel, orris, lemon verbena, juniper, coriander, thyme and lavender) and the rolling hills on the label.
It's distilled for the Sabatini Family by Thames Distillers in London.
Tasting note by The Chaps at Masters of Malt:
Richly herbaceous - the thyme and sage standing out in the crowd. Most definitely a savoury expression, though a touch of levender gives it a hint of sweetness.
From “Ronco dei Sassi” vineyard at San Floriano del Collio (the name is derived from the stones – sassi – of various sizes in the vineyard), with a yield per hectare of 5000 kilograms, the manually harvested grapes are used to produce this bright straw-yellow wine with subtle golden-greenish highlights. The elegant, well-defined nose shows notes ranging from bell pepper to peach, with hints of sage. The mineral palate is stylish and full bodied. It can be paired with appetisers featuring salmon or raw ceps, starters with vegetable sauces and, above all, lobster, shellfish and prized fish.
The white moscato grape, from which this sweet wine is made, was the first vine to be cultivated dating back to the Ancient Greeks and Romans. It is now known as a party wine with a low alcohol content allowing it to be drunk any time of the day. Its colour is intense straw yellow, with gold highlights and the boquet fresh and delicate with hints of honey. This sweet and fruity wine is perfect with hazelnut cakes, all desserts, such as panettone and fruit salads.
